Admissions Enrollment Agreement

Enrollment:

  1. Prior to your child’s enrollment, there will be an appointment for an interview with the Principal and/or Director. Arrangements may be made for any necessary pre-testing.  Students are accepted on a tentative basis for a maximum period of thirty (30) days, pending a determination of the program's suitability for the child and the ability of the child to adjust to the classroom environment.
  2. Your child will be placed for a full School Year per the exact dates as defined and published in the Annual School Calendar. A one hundred ($100) dollar nonrefundable registration fee is due at the time of enrollment.
  3. No child shall be admitted until all necessary enrollment forms have been completed, signed, and returned to the school office for final approval by the Director.  All children shall have an interview with the Principal and/or Director prior to final acceptance.

Tuition:

  1. Tuition rates are as defined on the current Rates Information Sheet. These rates are subject to change at any time and are usually adjusted at the beginning of the school year. Tuition is paid annually, semi-annually, or on a monthly payment plan. Monthly tuition is due on the 22nd of each preceding month of service. Payments received after 6:00 p.m. on the 1st of the month shall be assessed a Late Payment Surcharge consisting of ten percent (10%) of the outstanding balance. If the bank, for any reason, returns the check unpaid, it will not be re-deposited by the school. The parents must replace the check with cash or a money order at once to provide continuous education for their child. Returned checks shall be assessed as a twenty dollar ($20) NSF fee and a ten percent (10%) Late Payment Surcharge. After a second insufficient funds check from the same party, only money orders or cashier’s checks shall be accepted as payment for tuition. All extra charges will be automatically assessed and added to the following month’s billing.
  2. The school reserves the right to request the withdrawal of any child for non-payment of fees. If the tuition and Late Payment Surcharge are not paid by the 5th of the month, the child shall not be allowed to attend school until the balance is paid in full.

School Hours:

  1. Children must arrive or be picked up no later than fifteen minutes before or after his or her scheduled class. For example, if your child starts at 8:30 a.m., he/she cannot be dropped off before 8:15 a.m.; if your child is scheduled to be picked up at 3:00 p.m., he/she cannot be picked up after 3:15 p.m. without incurring extra childcare fees. Any attendance outside this range will be considered extra childcare and will be billed on a basis of twenty ($20.00) dollars per hour or any portion thereof.
  2. The School closes at 6:00 p.m. Any child left after this time is subject to a Late Pick-Up Charge of one ($1.00) dollar per minute or any portion thereof. If tardiness becomes a problem, the child may be dismissed from school.

Withdrawal:

  1. Parents must give thirty (30) days written notice of withdrawal to signal their intent to withdraw their child from the School. It must be delivered to the Front Office on or before the first day of the thirty (30) days’ notice. Acknowledgment of the receipt and effective withdrawal dates will be confirmed in writing by the School Director. If notice is not given in writing thirty (30) days before withdrawal, parents shall be charged a payment in their tuition equal to the Thirty (30) Day Notice period. This policy is strictly enforced. This notice does not apply if Santa Monica Montessori School requests the student's withdrawal.

So that your child will be as happy and secure as possible in the new learning environment, we ask that you provide a few of the necessary things that will be needed throughout the day.

  • Backpack
  • Lunchbox
  • Composition notebook

Parents, you can send your child to school with a lunch. We do have microwaves available to heat lunch items if needed.  Please speak to the office staff for information on our meal program.

The school provides snacks daily in the morning, afternoon, and late afternoon. Please provide extra snacks for your child throughout the day if you choose.
